IAF Tests Indigenous Khagantak-243 Glide Bomb

• A glide bomb has wings/control surfaces that let it travel a long distance after release, allowing an aircraft to attack without flying directly over the target.
• The 300-kg-class Khagantak-243 has a stand-off range of more than 140 km when released from high altitude.
• It was jointly developed by JSR Dynamics and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL).
• The trial used a Su-30MKI fighter aircraft as the test platform.
