Why in News?
India will host the first-ever ICC Women’s Champions Trophy, scheduled from February 14–28, 2027, after the tournament was shifted from Sri Lanka.
Key Details
- The tournament will be played in the T20I format and will feature six teams across 16 matches.
- Participating teams: India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka.
- Matches are scheduled at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai and the Vadodara International Cricket Stadium.
- The event is the inaugural edition of the ICC Women’s Champions Trophy.
