Uttarakhand Exports First Frozen French Fries to Iraq

Why in News?

APEDA facilitated the first-ever export of 24 tonnes of frozen French fries from Uttarakhand to Iraq on July 20, 2026. The consignment was shipped from Kashipur in Udham Singh Nagar district.

Key Points

The export was carried out by Virun Global Trade Pvt. Ltd. from Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar.
India's processed vegetable exports reached USD 932.25 million (7,26,874.70 MT) in 2025-26.
Value-added potato products alone accounted for USD 289.40 million (2,77,108.51 MT).
Processed fruits and vegetables contributed nearly 10% of APEDA's total scheduled exports.
