Why in News?
Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena inaugurated the Udmaroo Bridge across the Shayok River in Nubra, Ladakh.
Key Points
The bridge reduces travel distance between Udmaroo, Hundri, Terchey, and Skuru villages by nearly 35 km.
It provides all-weather access to Sham Gombo (Yarma Gonbo), a significant Buddhist pilgrimage site.
The bridge was executed under the Special Development Package (SDP) of the UT Administration.
