Nine New Rajya Sabha Members Sworn In by Chairman

Rajya Sabha Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan administered the oath to nine newly elected and re-elected members in the Rajya Sabha Chamber.

Nine members took oath, including Pawan Khera, Sushmita Dev, and Sukhendu Sekhar Ray.
West Bengal has three new members; Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Rajasthan have one each.
The Rajya Sabha is a permanent body and cannot be dissolved.
One-third of its members retire every second year, and each member serves a six-year term.
