Maharashtra Launches Bharat Taxi Under Cooperative Model

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis launched the Bharat Taxi service at Navi Mumbai International Airport. It is a cooperative-based transport system where drivers are owners and shareholders.
Key Points
The service follows the cooperative model under the vision 'Sahakar Se Samriddhi'. Maharashtra is the third region to launch it, after Delhi and Gujarat.
The service has zero surge pricing and no hidden charges. It operates on a fixed service fee for transparent fares.
It aims to provide taxis via credit facilities to 3,000–4,000 local youth near Navi Mumbai International Airport.
Maharashtra has nearly 2.5 lakh cooperative societies out of India's over 8.60 lakh cooperative institutions.
