Why in News?
The Illinois State Senate proclaimed August 15 as “National India Hub Day” during India Fest 2026 in Schaumburg, recognising the role of the local Indian-American community centre.
What does the proclamation signify?
- The declaration is a State-level recognition in Illinois, not a US federal observance.
- It coincides with India's Independence Day and acknowledges the community work of the National India Hub in the Chicago-area Indian diaspora.
- For exam purposes, the key point is the Illinois proclamation rather than the long list of event participants.
