Delhi Approves Time-Bound Service Delivery Bill, 2026

The Delhi Cabinet approved the Delhi (Right of Citizen to Time Bound and Ease of Delivery of Services) Bill, 2026.

The Bill gives citizens a legal right to receive notified government services within a fixed timeframe.
It replaces the 2011 law with a technology-driven framework for service delivery.
It provides for digital service delivery + automatic escalation in case of delays.
It proposes an independent Delhi Right to Service Commission and penalties for officials who miss timelines.
