NITI Aayog released the report “Reimagining Care: Strategies for Empowering Caregivers in Viksit Bharat@2047” to strengthen and professionalise India's caregiving ecosystem.
Key Details
The report calls for a National Policy on Caregiving and a National Caregiver Council.
It seeks better training, recognition and social-security support for people who provide care to children, the elderly, persons with disabilities and others needing assistance.
The wider idea is to treat caregiving as an organised economic and social sector rather than largely invisible informal work.
