India's installed non-fossil electricity capacity crossed 300 GW, taking the country past 60% of its 500 GW non-fossil capacity target for 2030.
What counts as non-fossil power?
- Non-fossil capacity includes electricity sources that do not rely on coal, oil or natural gas — such as solar, wind, hydro and nuclear power.
- India's non-fossil capacity reached 300.50 GW, more than 54% of the country's total installed power capacity.
- Solar is the largest component, followed by wind and hydro power.
