What is the CVC and How is the Appointment Made?
The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is India's apex anti-corruption body, established in 1964 on the recommendations of the Santhanam Committee and given statutory status by the Central Vigilance Commission Act, 2003.
It consists of a Central Vigilance Commissioner (Chairperson) and up to two Vigilance Commissioners (Members).
