The **Central Vigilance Commission (CVC)** is India's apex anti-corruption body, established in **1964** on the recommendations of the **Santhanam Committee** and given **statutory status** by the **Central Vigilance Commission Act, 2003**. It consists of a Central Vigilance Commissioner (Chairperson) and up to two Vigilance Commissioners (Members).
