Three Laureates Named for 2026 Ramon Magsaysay Award

The Ramon Magsaysay Foundation announced the three laureates of the 2026 Ramon Magsaysay Award, widely known as Asia’s Nobel Prize.

Tommy Koh (Singapore) → recognised for contributions to international diplomacy and law, including work linked to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
Runa Khan (Bangladesh) → honoured for social-development work supporting vulnerable and remote communities through the organisation Friendship.
Bo Kyi (Myanmar) → recognised for documenting political imprisonment and human-rights violations.
The Ramon Magsaysay Award was established in 1957 in memory of former Philippine President Ramon Magsaysay; Vinoba Bhave was its first Indian recipient in 1958.
