ISRO Conducts First SOLVE Ground Test for Gaganyaan

### Why in News? - **ISRO** successfully conducted the first ground test of the solid motor for **SOLVE — Sub-Orbital Launch Vehicle for Experiments** — at Sriharikota. ### Key Details - SOLVE is being developed as a test platform for **Integrated Parachute Tests** of the **Gaganyaan Crew Module**. - During future tests, the crew module will be carried to roughly **10-17 km altitude** and released so its parachute-based deceleration system can be evaluated. - The SOLVE solid stage is derived from a **PSLV strap-on motor** with modifications for the test requirement. ### Exam Connect - **SOLVE** → Sub-orbital test vehicle for validating Gaganyaan crew-module recovery systems. - **Gaganyaan** → India’s human spaceflight programme.
