The nine-member crew of **IASV Triveni** was felicitated for completing the first-ever **tri-services all-women global circumnavigation** sailing expedition, **Samudra Pradakshina**, on July 30, 2026.
### What made this expedition historic?
- The voyage was flagged off on **September 11, 2025**, and flagged in at **Mumbai** on **July 22, 2026**, after **314 days** at sea.
- The crew covered approximately **25,500 nautical miles** across four oceans, crossing the **Equator** twice and the **International Date Line**.
- They rounded the three Great Capes: **Cape Leeuwin**, **Cape Horn**, and the **Cape of Good Hope**, and navigated the challenging **Drake Passage**.
- By rounding Cape Horn, the crew earned membership in the prestigious **Cape Horners** fraternity, an honor reserved for sailors who achieve this feat.
- The expedition was a joint effort of the **Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force**, showcasing India's indigenous sailing capabilities and the spirit of **Nari Shakti**.
