Uttar Pradesh Launches Digi Rover Land Demarcation Drive

Uttar Pradesh launched a Digi Rover Special Land Survey Campaign from Saharanpur to speed up land measurement and demarcation.

The campaign uses GNSS-based technology for more precise field measurement and boundary marking.
It targets pending demarcation disputes and is intended to reduce manual errors and improve transparency in land records.
The drive is being supervised through the State’s revenue administration.

GNSS → Global Navigation Satellite System; satellite-based positioning used for surveying and mapping.
Land demarcation → Official determination and marking of property boundaries.

The DGCA conducted India’s first satellite-based landing-system approach on a jet aircraft using GAGAN at Udaipur Airport.

An IndiGo Airbus A320 successfully carried out a Localiser Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV) approach.
GAGAN improves satellite-navigation accuracy by broadcasting correction data and can reduce dependence on costly ground-based Instrument Landing Systems (ILS).
The system was jointly developed by ISRO and the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

GAGAN → GPS Aided GEO Augmented Navigation.
SBAS → Satellite-Based Augmentation System that improves navigation accuracy and integrity.

The Borjuli site in Sonitpur district, Assam, was notified as a Biodiversity Heritage Site for conservation of wild rice.

The site supports a viable population of Oryza rufipogon, the wild progenitor of cultivated rice.
Conservation work is being carried out under an NRAA-funded project implemented by ICAR-NBPGR with the Assam State Biodiversity Board.
Wild rice is valuable because it carries genetic traits that can support crop improvement, including tolerance to environmental stresses.

Akashvani inaugurated Swar Prerna Veethika in New Delhi as part of its 90-year celebrations.

The gallery was inaugurated by flautist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia at Akashvani Bhavan.
Its first phase features portraits of 20 eminent musicians closely associated with Akashvani and recognised with major civilian honours.
The initiative also comes ahead of the centenary of radio broadcasting in India in 2027.

The Odisha Cabinet approved a Deep Sea Fishing Mission with an estimated outlay of ₹2,295.45 crore.

The mission will run during 2026-2036 and seeks to expand sustainable offshore fishing and modernise marine-fisheries infrastructure.
It aims to strengthen seafood exports and fishing-community livelihoods through a mix of government support, beneficiary participation, institutional finance and public-private partnership.
The mission forms part of Odisha’s effort to expand its blue economy.
