Unified Health Interface Launched for Interoperable Digital Health Services

The Unified Health Interface (UHI) was launched on June 29, 2026 as part of India’s digital-health ecosystem.

UHI is an interoperable network, meaning different health applications can connect and exchange service requests through common digital protocols.
It is designed to link citizens with verified health providers and services across different platforms instead of requiring everyone to use a single app.
UHI operates within the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) ecosystem and works with digital identities such as ABHA.

Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda launched Aarogya Setu 2.0 and several digital-health initiatives on June 29, 2026.

Aarogya Setu has been repurposed as a citizen-facing Personal Health Record application linked to the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
The wider launch included platforms such as the National Health Claims Exchange (NHCX) and Unified Health Interface (UHI) to make health services and data more interoperable.
At the time of launch, India had created over 90 crore ABHA accounts and linked more than 100 crore health records.

India completed nine years of Goods and Services Tax (GST) implementation on July 1, 2026.

GST was introduced on July 1, 2017 and subsumed multiple Central and State indirect taxes into a common framework.
The number of registered taxpayers rose from 66.5 lakh in 2017 to 1.65 crore by May 2026, while gross collections reached about ₹22.27 lakh crore in FY 2025-26.
The Next-Generation GST reforms, effective from September 22, 2025, moved the structure primarily to 5% and 18% slabs.
