The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved a proposal, to establish a new ethanol plant at the site of a sugar mill in Mathura that has been closed for 19 years.
Key Points
The ethanol plant will be built at the Chhata sugar mill in Mathura, which has remained closed for about 19 years.
It will have an annual production capacity of 3.96 crore litres and use sugarcane as the primary feedstock.
After sugarcane supply is exhausted, maize and paddy can be used as secondary feedstocks.
