The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports established a high-level task force on September 15, 2026, to create a roadmap for the revival and development of Formula 1 and motorsports in India.

- The task force will assess the feasibility of bringing Formula 1 back to India by 2028.
- Its mandate includes policy changes, infrastructure needs, taxation issues and possible PPP models for motorsports.
- India previously hosted Formula 1 races at the Buddh International Circuit from 2011 to 2013.
