NLC India Renewables Ltd (NIRL) has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) to set up a 900 MW solar power project for Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL).
Key details
The entire green energy generated from the 900 MW project will be procured by GUVNL, the state power utility of Gujarat.
NIRL was specifically established to acquire and manage the green energy assets of NLC India Ltd, focusing on non-conventional power generation and expanding renewable energy in domestic and international markets.
NIRL is a subsidiary of NLC India Ltd, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Coal. It was established in 2023 and is headquartered in Chennai.
NLC India, formerly known as Neyveli Lignite Corporation, is diversifying into renewable energy through its subsidiary.
