Why in News?
IndiaAI (under MeitY) and the Ministry of AYUSH have signed an MoU to integrate traditional healthcare research data into AIKosh, India's sovereign AI repository.
What does the MoU entail?
- The Ministry of AYUSH will contribute anonymized health research artefacts to AIKosh, including research datasets, metadata, AI models, and specialized toolkits.
- Stakeholders in the AYUSH ecosystem will get access to the IndiaAI Compute ecosystem to develop scalable healthcare solutions.
- The MoU is valid for an initial period of 2 years, with automatic renewal upon mutual agreement, and involves zero financial commitment for either party.
Why is this significant?
- This partnership aims to leverage AI to advance traditional medicine systems like Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy.
- By integrating traditional knowledge with modern AI infrastructure, it can enable evidence-based research and innovation in healthcare.
