The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has constituted a high-level Special Task Force (STF) to tackle emerging global challenges and ensure national food security.
What will the Task Force focus on?
Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav (MGMG) campaign will be intensified, prioritizing outreach in 100 aspirational districts.
A dedicated campaign for balanced use of bio-inputs and fertilizers, with district-wise assessment for crops like wheat and rice.
Millet-growing regions will be mapped to optimize land use, and eco-fisheries will be promoted in low-productivity rice areas.
Adoption of Direct Seeding of Rice (DSR) and strengthening of AICRP on Meteorology for real-time advisories.
Nodal Officers in each Subject Matter Division will coordinate, with weekly monitoring.
