Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inspected the site for Asia’s first Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ) in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, on September 20, 2026.
Key Points
Gwalior is set to host Asia’s first dedicated Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ) for telecom equipment and components.
The project has an estimated investment outlay of ₹5,500 crore and is expected to create over 18,000 direct jobs.
About 170 acres have been identified for the first phase, with space planned for 24–25 manufacturing units.
A ₹500-crore Common Testing Lab package has also been proposed for the zone.
