Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 75 redeveloped railway stations and laid foundation stones for projects worth over ₹5,400 crore in Jalandhar, Punjab.
Key Points
The stations were redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), launched in February 2023 for the holistic development of railway stations.

Modi Nagar (Ghaziabad/NCR region)
Basti
Sitapur
Nakaha Jungle (Gorakhpur)
Mau Junction
Azamgarh
A new train service connecting Amritsar and Varanasi was launched, along with improved rail connectivity to Sri Anandpur Sahib and Maa Chintpurni Temple.
