Why in News?
Preparations for the 57th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), scheduled in Goa from November 20 to 28, 2026, were reviewed at the festival’s first steering committee meeting.
What is IFFI?
- IFFI is India's major international film festival, bringing together Indian and global cinema.
- It is organised through the National Film Development Corporation under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, in coordination with the Government of Goa.
- The 2026 preparations also focus on young filmmakers and the 'Orange Economy' — creative industries such as film, media, arts and entertainment.
